The same stubbornness that keeps a system alive from another continent also moves a boat between marinas into a storm headwind, jump-starts a dead battery bank in open water, and works a VHF channel while the engine is throwing soot into the cabin. The problems are the same shape as the ones in the day job: real constraints, nobody coming out to help, and whatever you need to fix it is already aboard or it isn't.

I skipper The Nomad on the Ligurian coast and the Riviera. I kiteboard when the wind is right for it. I am working through a private pilot licence, with a seaplane rating planned next — which is mostly an excuse to land where the boat already goes.
